Learning Logs
Learning Log #1
With the readings presented with log 1, I learned why portfolios are important and how they can impact future applications. In today’s world, technology is advancing very quickly and almost everything you are looking for can be found online. Businesses and other professionals in different types of fields are able to view your portfolio and get an idea of what you studied, what you are looking for, what you have to offer and the experience you bring to the table.
Learning Log #2
With the learning log for this week, I was allowed to go into many links provided to us in the course that allowed me to view the many different jobs offered in the field of mental health. I didn’t realize the many requirements that are needed when applying for a mental health related job. With the websites I looked at, I noticed that almost all of the jobs that are in the mental health profession require experience overall. I also did notice that the education of someone does play a major role as well when being considered for a job within the mental health field.
Learning Log #3
With this week of learning, I learned how to build my resume and have it look professional with everything listed from my past and present work experience and education. I was able to jot down various skills of mine as well. Within this area, I was able to get started on one of my essays as well for the course. I decided to do mine on trauma within law enforcement individuals. I took a passion of mine that I have always had and decided to write on the importance of trauma that many don’t know about with our law enforcement individuals.
Learning Log #4
With this learning log, I was able to create an artifact table and match assignments from past classes. This brought back many memories with the assignments that were already completed by me and it was amazing to see all of the work and knowledge that I acquired within those assignments. I was also able to go back into those assignments and download them for my own records. Within this learning log, I also was able to turn in my annotated bibliography. The topic I had chosen was from the last learning log, however I was able to put it all together with this log and received feedback from my professor. It was challenging at first, but it was rewarding as well.
Learning Log #5
With this learning log, I was able to complete the second part of my rational paper and attach my artifact table to it. I was also able to express the reason why I chose a certain assignment, and I talked about that in my essay. With the same learning log, I was able to choose a format for my portfolio. In the beginning, I had chosen to use WordPress because it looked easy to manage. I ended up choosing a different website to use because WordPress was very challenging for me. In the end, it all came out great and I was stoked about sharing my portfolio with my classmates.
